The Oregon Jewish Museum is collecting stories, objects, photographs and documents for an upcoming exhibition, Jews@Work: Law and Medicine.
The exhibit is the second in a series focusing on how Oregon Jews made their living. The remarkable progress Oregon Jews made as they integrated into the life of the state–from their days as immigrants to fully participatory Oregonians and Americans is reflected in the world of work they plunged into over the years of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The exhibit focuses on the history, growth and culture of the community in Oregon that made it possible for Jews to become full participants and pursue the prestigious occupations of law and medicine.
Artifacts from all eras are needed, including up to the present day. If you have materials to share, either with a loan or donation, contact Anne LeVant Prahl at 503/226-3600 or curator@ojm.org.
