Dec. 25, 1944, Berlin lies in ruins. Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels knows the country needs inspiration and convinces the Führer to hold an aggressive New Year’s speech standing in front of a cardboard background scene depicting an undamaged Berlin, but Hitler is an emotional mess. The only man who can help is the Jewish actor Adolf Grünbaum, who had given Hitler acting lessons at the beginning of his political career. Grünbaum and his family are pulled out of their concentration camp and brought to get Hitler back into top fighting form. My Führer is a daring and controversial revisionist comedy about one of histories darkest times. From putting Hitler in a jogging suit to making him role-play as one of his dogs, our hero soon learns that, for a short time, he is the puppet-master of one of the world’s most evil and powerful men. At the Hollywood Theatre, 4122 NE Sandy Blvd. Tickets are $6.50, $4.50 for seniors 65+ and children 4-12. Monday all shows $4.
