Talisman co-authored the amendment to free Soviet Jews and others 25 years ago this year. He was the founding vice chairman of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council and the founding director of the Washington Office of the Council of Jewish Federations, which represented all Jewish Federations to the U.S. Congress, administration, diplomatic corps, etc. for 18 years. He is president of the Project Judaic Foundation, an organization designed to create world-class exhibits like the “Precious Legacy, Scrolls from the Dead Sea” and, currently, “From the Ends of the Earth: Judaic Treasures from the Library of Congress.” From 10:30 a.m.-noon Mr. Talisman will speak about his efforts regarding restitution for assets stolen during the Holocaust.
