Oregon Community Warehouse recently picked up a large donation of furniture from the Rose Schnitzer Tower (formerly Clay Tower in downtown Portland) after the facility completed refurnishing some common areas.
Last year, Cedar Sinai Park bought the 17-story, 235-unit apartment complex serving the low-income elderly and people with disabilities.
The complex donated about 100 stackable chair), as well as some sofas, kitchen tables, armchairs and end tables.
“Most of the chairs have already left the warehouse and are in the homes of the 65 households we assist each week,” said OCW founder Roz Babener. “It is a small piece, but to be able to offer a kitchen table and six chairs, and especially six matching chairs, is a real treat for us at the warehouse.”
Babener said the warehouse is especially in need of pots and pans and blankets. To donate household items or furniture to the warehouse, call 503-235-8786 or visit communitywarehouse.org.
