At the Friday afternoon session, Saperstein compared voter trends from various religious and ethnic groups over the past several decades. He said perhaps the most significant statistic was the number of young or first-time voters who supported President Obama. Historically, he said, if people vote for the same party in their first two elections, they will continue to support that party for the rest of their lives, unless some significant event shifts priorities. Saperstein also delivered the drash at evening services on “A New Congress, A New Administration: The Jewish Agenda.”
