Beginning last October the Early Childhood Education Department at Congregation Beth Israel expanded their Judaic programming by offering once monthly Tot Shabbat services on Saturday mornings.
The 9:30 a.m. service is held the first Saturday of each month in Pollin Chapel of Schnitzer Family Center and is open to the community. Geared towards children ages 0-5, each Tot Shabbat is clergy-led by Rabbi Michael Z. Cahana and Cantor Judith B. Schiff and includes music, stories, snack and a themed craft activity, usually tied into a holiday.
After a short hiatus during the holidays, the monthly service resumed in February. The next service is March 6. Following the service, an Oneg Shabbat with snacks and drinks will give children and parents the chance to socialize in the Sherman Education Center.
