Last year, some 500 people enjoyed a Passover seder at one of the 10 Chabad Centers in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Chabad of Oregon Director Rabbi Moshe Wilhelm hopes Chabad hosts even more this year for its 25th Annual Community Passover Seders April 8 and 9. (See calendar of events on page 32 for information about all community seders).
The Westside Portland seder will be at the home of Rabbi and Devora Wilhelm, 7106 SW 12th Dr. The first seder begins at 8:15 p.m., April 8
“We’ll have a traditional meal with handmade shmura matzah from Israel, lots of explanation and a very homey atmosphere,” said the Rabbi. “Everyone is invited and no one will be turned away for inability to pay.”
Cost is $36 per adult or $18 for children 12 and younger, with free and reduced meals available. Wilhelm said Chabad is seeking seder sponsors to ensure all who wish can come and eat.
Information on other Chabad seders is available online at www.chabadoregon.com. Reservations, due April 6, for the Portland seder can be made online at the same site.
