Many community leaders attended Interfaith Advocacy Day at the state Capitol in Salem on Feb. 19. Approximately 150 participants—including about 10 from the Jewish community—were briefed on issues and advocacy skills in a morning session and then met with legislators. Health care programs, affordable housing and anti-hunger programs were the featured topics for the legislative meetings. Speaker of the House Dave Hunt spoke to the group on the steps of the Capitol. The CRC and OAJC were both lead organizations in the planning of the day’s events.
