The Jewish Review seeks an advertising sales representative with outside ad sales experience to handle sales for print and online.
Developing new business is the foremost priority.
The sales representative will cold call and pursue sales opportunities and must be able to manage and service accounts after closing. The abilities to make effective presentations, negotiate contracts and close deals also are needed. Besides excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated and highly goal-oriented.
The sales representative will be responsible for all aspects of the sale from the first call and closing the sale through making sure ad materials are received and/or created, and coordinating with the designer to make sure everything is in place for the ad to run on time and accurately.
Candidates also should demonstrate the ability to build successful relationships, complete reports to update management on account activity and emerging new opportunities and be able to travel within the greater Portland metropolitan area.
This is a telecommuting position. The person will work from outside the Jewish Review offices and will have access to the paper’s online account-management system. A successful candidate must be able to work independently, be computer proficient and have a broadband Internet connection.
