PASSOVER PREP—Rabbi Zalman Krems kashers items before Passover last year at the Mittleman Jewish Community Center. This year, Oregon Kosher sponsors a free “Pre-Pesach Prep Day” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 5 at the Portland Kollel, 2429 SW Vermont St. The event includes a kashering session, in which the community is invited to bring pots and utensils. Oregon Kosher will kasher them for the holiday (some Ashkenazi Jews are of the opinion that frying pans and plastics cannot be kashered). Oregon Kosher Rabbis Kenneth Brodkin, Zalman Krems and Moshe Wilhelm will lead interactive classes. At 6:30, Brodkin will discuss koshering your kitchen. At 7:15, Krems will discuss Kosher For Passover, Insider Information. And at 8, Wilhelm will present The Pesach Seder, A User’s Manual.
