Coed dodgeball for young Jewish adults sold out its frist three seasons, so Portland Jewish Events and Moishe House are bringing the league back with games starting Nov. 6.
“I’ve been getting e-mails and calls for the last couple of weeks from people who wanted to know if and when dodgeball was starting again,” said Jodi Berris, who created and organized the leagues. “It’s so cool that there’s such demand for the sport. It’s hokey fun.”
The league is open to Jewish people (their spouses/significant others), ages 18-39. Games are played round robin style on five Thursday nights, beginning Nov. 6, from 8-9 pm. (no game on Thanksgiving). Playoffs are on the final night.
Everyone in the league (age 21 and older) is invited to the after party at Moishe House, which usually lasts about two to three hours where people hang out, drink beer or Coke and eat kosher snacks.
The registration fee of $10 per person includes: five games, winning team prizes, some bruises, beer/snacks after all games, and laughs.
This is a private league and games will be played in the privately rented Mittleman Jewish Community Center Gym, 6651 SW Capitol Highway, Portland.
Register as an individual or with a group of up to 15 players. Registration due by Nov. 3, but is limited to the first 75 people.
