Rebbitzin Simi Zuckerman and Caren Cohen are co-chairing the First Annual Women’s Shabbat Service at Congregation Shaarie Torah at 10 a.m., Nov. 22. The entire Shabbat morning service will be by and for women in the chapel downstairs while a simultaneous traditional service will be held in the main sanctuary the synagogue.
“Tefilah is a meaningful opportunity for women to meet the complexities of Jewish spiritual expression and become full participants in prayer,” said Zuckerman. “Tefillah is also a learning experience which enables women to better understand prayer and navigate the study of Torah in a more expressive way. Women of all levels of Jewish background are warmly welcome to our service.”
A special Kiddush/luncheon will follow services. For planning purposes, RSVP to simi@shaarietorah.org or cbcohen@hotmail.com, or call the synagogue office at 503-226-6131.
