The Vancouver Shalom chapter of Vancouver’s toddlers are doing a service learning project of Tikkun Olam in honor of Hadassah’s groundbreaking research and the environment.

The children are inviting the community to purchase trees to be planted in Israel. The goal is to plant 100 trees in Israel by Earth Day 2010.

This is being promoted as a fantastic way to honor birthdays, anniversaries, Yartzheits, etc. Trees are $10 each and can be purchased by mailing checks to Vancouver Shalom Chapter of Hadassah. 2055 NW Fargo Loop, Camas,WA 98607. Put “Trees for Life” on the memo line and note if they are honoring someone for your personalized certificate.

“Our children recognize the importance of giving back to the community and our earth as one of the fundamentals of Jewish living and culture,” said Rachel Frankel-Moore. “Support their education into Judaism and environmental awareness. The chapter also wants to teach people about Hadassah and the research and support that they offer the world over.”
