Friedman named Ulum’s Portland VP

The Ulum Group, one of Oregon’s top five public relations and public affairs firms, has named Bela Friedman vice president of its Portland office.
In her new position, Friedman will lead the communications team in Portland. Friedman is a member of Congregation Neveh Shalom.
Friedman brings with her more than 20 years of experience as a public relations professional and journalist. She spent the past several years as an independent public relations consultant in San Diego, Los Angeles and Portland.
A former president of the Health Care Communicators of Oregon, she held the same title at the organization’s chapter in San Diego. Friedman is an award-winning professional who has a deep background in health care, financial services, lifestyle and non-profit communications. Her wide range of public relations expertise includes publicity, media relations, community relations, media advocacy, and strategy and positioning. She received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from California State University, Northridge.
