Oral historian Sandy Polishuk creates a portrait of labor, peace and civil rights activist Julia Ruuttila, illustrating the role of oral history in deepening our historical records. Ruuttila was the daughter of a union organizer and a Socialist. She was also a journalist for 50 or more years and had lived in Eugene, rural Lane County, Linnton, Portland and Astoria.
