Adapted into a one-woman play by artist Shelly Mitchell, “Talking With Angels” is the true story of Gitta Mallasz and her three Jewish companions who, while living outside Budapest during World War II, received 88 dialogues from Beings they called Angels. The dialogues were published in Paris in 1976 as “Dialogues avec l'Ange,” and in 1988 they were published in English. Mitchell first adapted Mallasz's “Talking With Angels” as a one-act play for the 1999 San Francisco Fringe Theater Festival, and later staged a sold-out performance in New York days after 9-11. Since then, Mitchell has performed “Talking With Angels” more than 200 times at various theaters worldwide. $18 in advance, $20 at the door and $10 for teens ages 12-17.
