The work of 26 artists will be featured in an exhibit of 56 prints from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and his family foundation at the Art Gym at Marylhurst University near West Linn, just south of Lake Oswego on Hwy. 43.
The show, entitled “WOMEN’S WORK: Contemporary Women Printmakers,” opens with a 3 p.m. lecture by art historian Prudence Roberts on Feb. 24. A reception will follow until 6 p.m.
Women’s Work was organized collaboratively by Art Gym Director Terri M. Hopkins, and John Olbrantz, the Maribeth Collins Director of the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University in Salem.
Both curators expressed their appreciation and thanks to Jordan Schnitzer and his family foundation for making his extensive collection of contemporary prints available to curators for research and presentation.
“WOMEN’S WORK” is the third exhibition they have organized together from Schnitzer’s collection. Like its predecessors, “Pressure Points” and “Keys to the Koop,” “Women’s Work” will travel to additional venues in the next two years.
The exhibition will continue through April 2. Gallery hours are noon-4 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Admission is free.
