Concert launches Israel at 60 series

A Celebration of Israeli Culture Through Music on April 1 will launch the Israel at 60 celebration sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland and the Mittleman Jewish Community Center.

The 7:30 p.m., April 1 concert at the MJCC will feature Israel’s Yarden Trio—musicians in Israeli Army’s unit of “excellent musicians.” The trio will be performing in Portland as part of their U.S. tour.

The series will continue at the MJCC June 2 with a free lecture, “A Celebration of Israeli Accomplishment—The Ingathering of Exiles.”

A community trip to Israel April 30-May 11 is part of the celebration, but no spaces remain on the trip.

The celebration culminates with “A Celebration of Israel’s First 60 Years,” at the Benson Hotel 7:30 p.m., June 12.
