Presented by the Northwest Film Center and the Institute for Judaic Studies, this year's film festival runs April 3-17 and features 15 films. While the films express specific Jewish experiences, they also speak to ideas, experiences and issues that confront our common humanity. The opening film, "Fugitive Pieces," tells the story of Jakob Beer, who is haunted by his childhood experiences during WWII. But through writing and the discovery of true love, Jakob glimpses the possibility of freedom from the legacy of his past.
