JOHN ROTHMANN

Rothmann speaks in Ashland on U.S.-Israel relations

By Jewish Review

Temple Emek Shalom in Ashland will host author, lecturer, archivist and political consultant John Rothmann for two evenings of education and discussion on United States-Israel relations on Oct. 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m.

A frequent lecturer on American politics and the presidency, Rothmann has spoken at more than 150 campuses throughout the United States, Canada and Israel. He has been involved in many political campaigns on the national, state and local levels, including Richard Nixon’s in 1968.

He has also published a wide range of articles on American political history, the Middle East and education. His 15,000-volume library has been called one of the finest private libraries in the country specializing in American political history and political biographies.

“John Rothmann has the uncanny ability to take you back in time and bring you up to date all in the same breath,” according to the KGO Web site.  “As an author, lecturer, teacher, archivist, political consultant and expert on Middle East relations, it’s easy to see how he keeps up his end of the conversation.

“Using audio tools to convey important issues in a clear, interesting and exciting way, John makes the radio come alive on KGO Talk Radio in the San Francisco Bay Area. The show might start with the day’s headlines and then move on to revisit and capture a historical moment through original sounds. You name it, John can find the recording of it,” concludes the Web site.

“The people that tune in to my show have strong opinions, are highly intelligent, and are very sophisticated—and that’s the secret to why the show is so much fun,” said Rothmann on the station’s Web site.

Cost for the Ashland programs is $5 per evening for TES and Havurah Shir Hadash members and $8 per evening for non-members.
