Writers & Scholars: Annie Dawid. “And Darkness Was Under His Feet; Stories of a Family” is the title of Dawid’s talk as well as the title of her most recent book. Growing up in New York, Dawid heard stories of her father’s origins in Germany, his flight from the Nazis to China and subsequent emigration to the United States.
