The Oregon Jewish Community Foundation hired Julie Diamond to fill the new position of director of development.

“Julie’s addition to our staff gives recognition to our Board’s commitment to continued growth,” said John Moss, OJCF’s executive director. “I’m confident that Julie will enable the Foundation to further serve Portland’s vibrant Jewish community in exciting and innovative ways. We are pleased to have her on board.”

Diamond’s professional experience spans 20 plus years in sales and marketing, communications and fundraising. Prior to joining the foundation, she served Portland’s arts and business community as associate publisher of the Performing Arts Programs for Skies America Publishing. Diamond managed publishing and advertising sales for top arts groups such as the Oregon Symphony.

Her background in Jewish communal work includes considerable experience in both staff and volunteer positions in California, Washington and Oregon. She held the position of membership director at Mittleman Jewish Community Center and, prior to that, was the development and marketing director for Jewish Family Service of Sacramento.

Her advertising agency experience includes account management with McCann Erickson/Seattle and BPN/Seattle. Julie also played a key role in the launching of a national media company for kids ages 6-12 called KidStar Interactive Media that included AM radio, a magazine, Web site and member club.

As a volunteer, Diamond co-chaired last year’s “Super Sunday” for the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland and served on the OJCF’s Youth Foundation’s “11th Commandment: Honor Thy Children” fund-raising event last May. She also contributes as a member of JFGP’s Women’s Philanthropy Committee and the Jewish Review Committee.

“I’m confident that Julie’s unique combination of relevant experience, high skill set and passion for Jewish life will make her an effective asset to the Foundation, our donors, and our community,” commented Board President Stan Blauer.
