Coed Jewish dodgeball league forms
By Jewish Review
Portland Jewish Events—creator of the Maccabees and Microbrews, Megilla Gorilla Purim Party, Silent Night...Not! Party, Israeli Club Nites, and 1-800-Shabbat—has a new offering for young Jewish adults: the Jewish Dodgeball and Drinks League.
The coed league will meet five Thursday evenings in November and December during a private gym rental at Mittleman Jewish Community Center Gym. One hour of round robin league play in the gym will be followed by drinks (beer) at another nearby venue (location TBA to registered players).
The league is open to Jewish people (as well as their significant others), ages 21-39. The dodgeball portion of the evening is open also to 18- to 20-year-olds.
Registration is limited to the first 50 people (five teams) who register. Games will run for five Thursday nights, in November and December, from 8-9 pm. The first four nights will be regular play and the last night will be the playoffs, for all teams.
Following all games (no need to shower), strictly kosher drinks and light snacks will be provided for those age 21 and older (house party style).
Registration for league is due by Oct. 31. Games begin Nov. 8. Cost is $10 per person, which includes five games, prizes for winning team, some bruises and beer/snacks after all games.
Register individually or as a group of up to 10 players (all members must fit above criteria).
