Stephanie Reiter of Portland is engaged to Dr. Todd Hollander of Seattle.
Reiter is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Greg Reiter of Portland, and the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Phillip Reiter and Susan Gerson of Portland. Hollander is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Steve Hollander of Scottsdale, Ariz.
LEE WEINSTEIN
Lee Weinstein, a 15-year Nike PR veteran, has opened Lee Weinstein and Associates, Inc., a new public relations firm specializing in employee communications, PR strategies, product launches and public affairs.
A general list of services includes: creative visioning, athlete and sports PR, crisis management, corporate responsibility communications, brand communications, and media relations and training.

STEVE RUDOLPH
Steve Rudolph was inducted into the Portland Inter-Scholastic League Sports Hall of Fame in a ceremony Oct. 14 at the Holiday Inn Portland Airport.
Rudolph graduated from Wilson High School in 1975. His achievements include football (all-state, two-time all-PIL), basketball and baseball (two-time all-PIL; played at OSU for four years).
MIKE GOTESMAN
A memorial service was held for Mike Gotesman Oct. 7 at Congregation Shaarie Torah. Mr. Gotesman died Oct. 5 at the age of 58.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, Mr. Gotesman had lived in Portland for most of his life. He was a graduate of Yeshiva University in N.Y., held a master’s degree from Portland State University and was a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist with a 30-year private practice in Beaverton. In addition, Mr. Gotesman was a member of B’nai B’rith Men’s Camp Association Board and a member of the Mittleman Jewish Community Center.
Mr. Gotesman is survived by wife Margaret Gotesman, daughter Mardi Gotesman, mother Berta Gotesman and sister Toby Schneier.

ARNOLD MAIZELS
A funeral service was held for Arnold Maizels Oct. 9 in the Landau Chapel of Beth Israel Cemetery. Mr. Maizels died Oct. 6 at the age of 93.
A Portland area native, Mr. Maizels served in WWII and was later self-employed as a manufacturing representative. He was also a member of Temple Beth Israel, the Tualatin Country Club, the Astoria Country Club and was past president of the Portland Pot and Kettle Club.
Mr. Maizels is predeceased by wife Roslyn Maizels. He is survived by son Steve Maizels, daughter Judy Feinerman and grandsons Joshua Feinerman and Harrison Maizels.
Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
LEROY BLUMBERG
A graveside service was held for Dr. Leroy Blumberg Oct. 14 at the Jones Pioneer Cemetery, Havurah Shalom section. Dr. Blumberg died Oct. 12 at the age of 78.
A nuclear and elementary particle physicist, after graduating high school in Atlantic City, N.J., Dr. Blumberg attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, then received a Fulbright Fellowship to study physics in the Netherlands. Upon his return Dr. Blumberg completed a Ph.D. at Columbia, a three-year post-doc at Oak Ridge National Lab and a research fellowship at Harvard. Dr. Blumberg then received a permanent position at the Brookhaven National Lab in N.Y. where he worked for 29 years.
Dr. Blumberg had lived in Portland since 1998. He was a fellow of the American Physical Society, a senior scientist with tenure at BNL, a visiting scholar at Stanford University and a popular speaker at international conferences.
He is survived by wife Sydel Blumberg, daughters Manya Helman, Deborah Hopkins and Julia Haykin, brother Marvin Blumberg, sister Florine Berry and eight grandchildren.
LAURIE AND REBECCA RECHT
A funeral service was held for Laurie and Rebecca Recht Oct. 14 at Riverview Abby. Laurie Recht, 54, and Rebecca Recht, 14, died Oct. 11 in Vancouver, Wash.
Laurie Recht graduated summa cum laude in 1988 from the State University of New York. Most recently she was her daughter’s full-time caregiver. Rebecca Recht, who had cerebral palsy and dyslexia, was a student at Park Academy, formerly Woodmont School for Dyslexics.
The Rechts were affiliated with Temple Beth Israel and Chabad of Clark County. Rebecca became a bat mitzvah in May 2006 at Temple Beth Israel.
A 5 p.m. memorial service will be held for the Rechts Oct. 21 at the Chabad of Clark County synagogue in Vancouver, 9715 NE 126th Ave., Ste. 2320.
Memorial contributions can be made in their honor to the Recht Library Fund—established in remembrance of Rebecca’s love of learning—care of Chabad of Clark County.
