Jewish Family and Child Service Executive Director Marvin Kuperstein announced his retirement from the agency as of Oct. 12.

Kuperstein came from the Columbus Jewish Family Service agency more than four years ago to head the JFCS here during a critical time and worked to revitalize the agency.

Kuperstein said he is looking forward to more leisurely activities and plans to stay in Portland, the city his entire family calls home, since his two grown daughters have moved here as well.

“We wish Marvin and his family the best in this new chapter of their lives, ” said Marian Fenimore, the newly appointed interim executive director and 10-year veteran at the agency.  “I intend to continue the important work that Marvin and I have been involved in over the past four years and ensure that the community and those who are touched by the agency receive the same high quality of care indicative of the staff at JFCS. While all of us at Jewish Family and Child Service will miss Marv, we are encouraged by the leadership and legacy that he left behind.”
