Plans are under way for the annual “Women’s Day of Jewish Learning,” to be held 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2008.  The program is under the auspices of the Mittleman Jewish Community Center, which also serves as the venue.

The community-wide event welcomes all women to gather and study primary texts about a key female Biblical figure. This year’s focus is Miriam the prophetess, a multi-faceted personality whose activism and leadership were instrumental in shaping the destiny of the Israelites, and who facilitated her brother Moses’ entry into the Egyptian royal household.

The cost, which includes breakfast and lunch is $36/adults before Feb. 29 and $45 after Feb. 29; $18/students and $60/patrons. For more information, contact Sylvia Frankel at frankel@lclark.edu.
