The Nov. 13 Harvest of Hope Breakfast was sponsored by the Oregon Faith Roundtable Against Hunger. OFRAH is one of many projects on which the Oregon Chapter of the American Jewish Committee and the Community Relations Committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland collaborate.

AJC Area Director Emily Gottfried chairs the breakfast every fall and Community Relations Director Robert Horenstein has  chaired OFRAH’s spring conference for hunger advocates several times.

This year, OFRAH honored Angela Martin, the Astoria Summer Lunch Program and the William Temple House with its Harvest of Hope Awards for battling hunger. Oregon Food Bank Executive Director Rachel Bristol was the keynote speaker. Gottfried said AJC and CRC were founding conveners of OFRAH after Norene Goplen of Lutheran Advocacy Ministries approached them as a result of their work on Interfaith Advocacy Day.
