An annual interfaith effort to provide food and comfort during the holiday season. Support comes from individual groups and the community at-large. Beth Israel provides food, financial support and most of the on-site volunteers. Tasks include delivering meals, filling gift bags, serving food and helping guests to feel welcome. About 300 turkey dinners will be served, and another 125 meals delivered to home-bound individuals, giving the regular Meals-on-Wheels drivers the day off. To volunteer, visit www.bethisrael-pdx.org and follow the links to sign-up. Shifts are approximately two hours long. You can also call Kelly Caldwell at 503-413-5530 for more information. If you can't attend in person, gift bag donations are being accepted: toothbrushes, pens, notepads, combs, soap, tissues, etc. Temple Beth Israel, 1972 NW Flanders St.
