Melton lunch looks at nature of God
By Jewish Review

Rabbi Ariel Stone, of progressive Congregation Shir Tikvah, and Rabbi Arthur Zuckerman, of traditional Congregation Shaarie Torah, discuss the nature of God at the annual Melton Lunch & Learn with the Oregon Board of Rabbis on Dec. 4.
Jumping off from the Melton Purposes of Jewish Living lesson on God, Stone’s comments focused on the issue of gendering God and Zukerman focused on the existence of God. A lively and sophisticated discussion followed, according to Melton director Bonni Goldberg.
The Florence Melton Adult Mini-School is a pluralistic adult Jewish education that provides Jewish literacy to students who complete the two-year, 30-week-a-year classes in four areas. For more information, contact Goldberg at 503-892-3015.
