The Oral History Project of the Oregon Jewish Museum continues the task Shirley Tanzer started in the late 1970s—interviewing members of Oregon’s Jewish community.
“Each interview contributes to our understanding of how and why Jews have made Oregon their home,” said OJM Curator Anne Prahl.
The museum holds more than 250 interviews and has identified many others in the community whose stories will be collected. The museum seeks additional volunteers to conduct and transcribe interviews. OJM is planning a workshop to train interviewers in January. For more information on the project or workshop, contact Prahl at curator@ojm.org or 503-226-3600.
