Women’s event to feature Iranian Jew

This year’s IMPACT event for women on Feb. 8 will feature writer Angella Nazarian.
As an Iranian Jewish women, Nazarian knows first hand what it is like to be a stranger in a strange world. She arrived in America at a young age, only to be unexpectedly separated from her parents for many years. She speaks of the strength found in community and will offer lessons from her personal experience.
Sponsored by the Women’s Philanthropy Committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland, the event will be the evening of Feb. 8 at the Benson Hotel. This year’s women’s campaign event is chaired by Michelle Rosenbloom, with vice chairs Anna Kodesch and Mindy Zeitzer.
The WPC was established to provide a place in the Portland Jewish community for women of all ages to come together to promote, enhance and celebrate Jewish life, both locally and abroad. The WPC is committed to working together to build a Jewish community that is both welcoming and engaging while demonstrating the impact a woman can make by having her voice heard.
