ISRAEL’S INBAL DANCE COMPANY returns to Portland for a 7:30 p.m., Oct. 7 performance at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall as part of the White Bird Dance Series.
White Bird presented Inbal’s Potland debut in May 2006, when Inbal performed “Oyster,” which drew a prolonged standing ovation. On Oct. 7, Inbal Pinto Dance Company returns with the U.S. premiere of their new critically acclaimed work “Shaker,” set in a snowy landscape full of mystery, joy and danger. “Shaker” is inspired by the glass snow globes that fill with snowflakes when shaken. The stage will be transformed into a surreal dreamscape of artificial snow. The Jerusalem Post described Shaler as “so beautiful and touching that it hurts, like a poem that strikes the right chords.” Tickets for the show are $20-50, with 20 percent discounts for students and seniors. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets including the Portland Center for the Performing Arts box office or online at www.ticketmaster.com. For group discounts or information, call 503-245-1600, ext. 201. Visit www.whitebird.org for the latest information.
